When the NBA suspended all games, Jenna Walker, CM, and her team at IG Wealth Management decided to get to work and viagra approved transformed crisis into opportunity with solutions that might surprise you. Her approach to pivoting under pressure could change how you handle your next career challenge.
Challenging Marketers
While I completed the Accelerated Path, the Chartered Marketer program builds well-rounded marketers by challenging them in every area. It emphasizes creative problem-solving and industry research, which I’m passionate about. It also holds marketers accountable for staying current, knowledgeable, and informed by requiring the completion of continuing professional development credits (CPD), which is necessary for a constantly changing profession.
Generations, Cultures, Traditions
I have always enjoyed creative problem-solving and building new and innovative solutions. I love marketing because I get to share my wildest ideas and collaborate with wonderfully creative people. I’ve always been deeply engaged in studying people: different generations and what makes them unique, other cultures and their traditions, target and niche markets, etc. Marketing is the bridge that allows firms and discount uk levitra online brands to tell their stories in impactful ways to build and deepen relationships with the people who matter most—their customers and clients.
Get to Work
I believe in having no regrets because everything I’ve learned throughout my career has led me to where I am today. I appreciate the hills, valleys, successes, and failures because I continue to push forward in all lessons learned. I’m confident in my abilities to get the job done—and done well. Every problem or challenge has at least one solution, so if you have a setback, have faith in yourself, trust your instincts, and get to work; you will figure it out.
Speak Up
Communication is an essential skill in every professional industry; however, in marketing, although the message to the customer (or client) might remain unchanged for an extended period, how the customer prefers to receive the message is constantly changing. We are always looking for ways to engage them and use new media. Since there’s a lot of creative work involved in marketing, everyone’s input, opinion, or perspective matters. Marketers must speak up because their insight is always valuable.
Fortunate
I’m fortunate to work alongside and learn from many incredibly innovative marketers every day. I’m on the national brand marketing team and work with various teams, from field marketing and marketing compliance to digital marketing and community engagement. We have a Creative Sharing chat on Microsoft Teams and acheter tadalafil levitra monthly gatherings with our Chief Marketing Officer to inspire and keep us informed. In these gatherings, we learn about internal marketing initiatives, projects, and industry trends – which is wonderful.
I also follow some inspiring digital creators on social media whose content is focused on marketing, leadership, and women specifically, such as Katy McFee and Samantha Russell. Keeping up with their content helps me stay current regarding social media and engaging customers.
Above and Beyond
I was part of a high-performing, high-passion powerhouse team for four to five years. Our synergy was incredible, and we truly enjoyed and valued our work. When you find a role that doesn’t feel like work, you can put in that extra effort and hours because it isn’t a chore – it’s a pleasure. You go above and beyond when you’re invested and passionate. That’s when you know you’re where you’re supposed to be.
Skills and Confidence
Marketing has changed since I learned about the 4Ps in college 20 years ago—and so have marketers. As the world evolves and technology advances, we get new platforms and new media to work with, which results in new ways to engage customers and clients. This forces marketers to evolve to keep up with industry advancements and trends and stay ahead of them. As a result, we learn new skills and become more confident.
Creativity Skyrocketed
When the Covid-19 pandemic began, I remember where I was when the NBA suspended all games going forward. For someone whose role was creating and executing in-person events, I had to figure out what that meant for me and my team and get to work. Everything we did migrated to the virtual world, as did all our events for almost two years. We trained on new digital platforms and did everything possible to continue supporting our financial advisor teams.
We dedicated ourselves wholeheartedly, working long hours and pushing beyond limits. Through that effort, we experienced tremendous growth – individually and as a team. We enhanced our skills and developed new ones. We learned how to pivot and thrive in the face of change and adversity. We grew closer as a team. We had dozens of new ideas, and our creativity skyrocketed. It was a chance to recreate our job description and was very exciting.
Game-Changer
I’m genuinely excited about AI as a marketing trend because it’s transforming how we connect with audiences. With hyper-personalized content, predictive analytics, and real-time insights, AI is unlocking new levels of creativity and efficiency. It will empower marketers to make smarter decisions, optimize campaigns, and deliver more meaningful experiences to customers and clients. The potential to innovate and stay ahead of the curve with AI is not just inspiring—it’s game-changing.
Do The Work
