Committed to Evolving in Marketing

Jared Jylhä, CM, Senior Account Director and comprar tadalafil en espana Digital Advertising Director at a Well-Known Company, says marketing is about driving results, not looking good. In his CM Spotlight, Jared touches on discovering marketing, learning to adapt, being committed to evolving, and becoming someone the leadership team counts on.

Mark of Substance

The CM designation is like saying, “Hey, I’m not just here for the brainstorm snacks, I’m here to lead.” It shows you’re serious about evolving in a field that never stands still. To me, it’s a badge of curiosity, humility, and drive. It means you’ve committed to the craft, the strategy, and the results while being honest enough to say, “I still have more to learn.” In a world of trend-chasing and buzzwords, the CM stands out as a mark of substance. It’s a signal that you’re not winging it—you’re sharpening it.

Strategy, Empathy and Guts

I’ve always had a knack for connecting people, whether it was rallying friends for weekend plans or building partnerships for brands. I’m an equal analytical thinker and a heart-led communicator, so marketing felt like a natural intersection. I love digging into the “why” behind people’s decisions and then crafting stories or strategies that meet them there. Strategy, empathy, and a bit of guts—that’s always been my mix. I didn’t wake up one day and say, “I’m going to be a marketer,”—but now, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

Creativity and Impact

Marketing isn’t just about looking good—it’s about driving results. I used to think clever ideas were everything, but the real magic happens when those ideas connect directly to business goals. Learn how to speak the language of operations, sales, and finance early on. When you can bridge creativity with impact, you stop being just a “marketing person” and start becoming someone the leadership team counts on. Get comfortable with data, it’s your best friend, even if it doesn’t always feel that way.

Sharp and lasix 100 mg Curious

Marketing moves fast. Like, blink-and-you-missed-it fast. One day you’re learning about AI, the next you’re wondering if you need to advertise in the metaverse. It’s a constant juggle between cultural trends, tech shifts, economic pressures, and client expectations. You must be creative, strategic, adaptable, and caffeinated! While the marketing landscape changes daily, the pressure to “prove it works” never goes away. We’re not just storytellers—we’re revenue drivers, trend translators, and sometimes, crisis managers. It’s the kind of chaos, that keeps you sharp, curious, and always a little ahead of the curve.

Committed to Evolving

Staying current is a lifestyle. I read obsessively, listen to podcasts on my dog walks, follow marketing nerds on LinkedIn, and say yes to just about any webinar that promises to teach me something new. I’ve also learned that doing is just as important as learning. I test, tinker, and reflect. I talk to people smarter than me. I don’t pretend to have it all figured out, but I stay committed to evolving. Growth is a daily practice, and honestly, if you’re not a little uncomfortable, you’re probably not paying attention!

Growth and Influence

At the start, I was all ears—listening, learning, asking questions. These days, I find myself being the one people come to for answers. That shift from student to strategic voice has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey. The profession has changed, too. Marketing used to be the “make it pretty” department. Now, we’re expected to drive growth, shape reputation, and influence bottom lines. The seat at the table isn’t just earned, it’s expected and I’m here for it. The work has become more meaningful, and the conversations more impactful.

Resilience and Resourcefulness

COVID flipped everything upside down. I was in the events and promotions space, and almost overnight, the floor dropped out. My team was laid off. Budgets vanished. I had to pivot hard into unfamiliar territory, building digital programs from scratch with no roadmap. It was messy and stressful, but it was also transformational. I learned how to adapt fast, lean on creativity under pressure, and rebuild from the ground up. That season taught me more about resilience and resourcefulness than any course or conference ever could.

Building Momentum

Stepping into the role of Digital Advertising Director at Well Known Inc. was the moment I went from managing projects to managing performance across an entire client portfolio. I had to understand how to execute, and lead with results. It was a high-stakes seat at the table, and it pushed me to grow fast. I learned to trust my voice, make bold decisions, and stay laser-focused on outcomes. That role gave me the confidence to say: I don’t just run campaigns, I build momentum!

The Next Wave

Long-form is making a comeback, and I’m all in! For years, marketing chased shorter and order viagra louisiana snappier content. But now, people want depth. They want substance. Podcasts, documentaries, newsletters, long-form storytelling—it’s where real trust is built. In a sea of quick content, going deep is how you stand out. I’m excited to see brands ditch the fluff and say something meaningful, because attention is currency, but connection is legacy. The next wave of great marketing isn’t louder, it’s slower, more thoughtful, and far more human.

Clean your desk, drink your water, and remember, how you do anything is how you do everything. Marketing is a game of consistency, curiosity, and care. Build the habits that help you show up strong, then keep showing up. Learn to listen deeply, speak plainly, and think strategically. Ask better questions. Say thank you and don’t let impostor syndrome sit in your meetings. You belong. This field needs marketers who lead with both heart and brain. Build something meaningful and have some fun while you do it!
